Texas Trust Launches SwitchAgent Concierge Service Reducing Pain of Switching Banks

The Texas Trust SwitchAgent concierge services allows consumers to drop their banks more easily.

Mansfield, TX, March 16, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Texas Trust Credit Union is taking the pain out of switching financial institutions with the launch of the Deluxe Corporation (NYSE: DLX) SwitchAgentSM concierge service. Texas Trust is the first credit union in Texas to launch this service, making it easier for north Texas consumers to drop their bank and move their financial services to Texas Trust.

SwitchAgent is the first automated service of its kind, developed to make it easier for consumers to transfer pre-authorized payments and deposits, such as gym memberships, car loans, mortgages, utility bills, and Social Security and payroll deposits, from their old bank account to their new Texas Trust account.

The SwitchAgent concierge service will be available to all new account members, at no cost to them. The service lets them close out old accounts quickly and efficiently, eliminating the traditional hassle involved with moving accounts. Members will receive a customized schedule and billing notification for each automated payment and deposit, simplifying the transition process and the transfer of pre-authorized transactions.

According to J. D. Power & Associates, 66 percent of account holders would consider switching financial institutions, but don't because of the laborious transition process related to pre-authorized transactions. With SwitchAgent, Texas Trust will automate the process for new members, requiring only 30 minutes of their time, compared to 10-20 hours without SwitchAgent. By leveraging Deluxe Corp’s proprietary database of payers and creditors, Texas Trust can anchor members to their accounts more quickly, reducing the likelihood that a new account will go inactive.

"The average consumer has 1.3 automated deposits and nearly 4 automated payments associated with their accounts,” said Jim Minge, President of Texas Trust Credit Union. “It can take several months to move these transactions. That prevents many consumers from switching financial institutions even if they are unhappy.”

Minge added, “With SwitchAgent we take on the burden of managing the transition process, so the consumer doesn’t have to. Our new members will be able to switch over within 30 days or less, compared to eight weeks or more without SwitchAgent.”
