The Tourette Syndrome Association of Illinois (TSA-IL) and the Chicago Community Group (a TSA-IL affiliated Community Group) are pleased to present an opportunity for you to participate in an informal Family Meeting with Dr. Doug Woods, Ph.D. on Friday, March 23rd from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm in the Auditorium at the Lincoln Park Cultural Center in Chicago.

This is a free event, open to anyone with an interest or questions about Tourette Syndrome (TS) and other disorders -- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Anxiety Disorders, Oppositional Defiance Disorder (ODD) and Trichotillomania (hair loss caused by compulsive pulling or twisting of the hair until it breaks off).

Dr. Woods is a Professor of Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM). Dr. Woods has over 160 scientific publications and 9 books on behavioral treatments of Tourette Syndrome and related disorders. His work has been highlighted in numerous venues including USA Today, ABC News, Doctor Radio on the Sirius/XM Radio Network, and most recently, featured in the PBS television news program “Need to Know.”

Dr. Woods is a recognized international expert on the causes and treatment of Tourette Syndrome and other neuropsychiatric disorders, and has given over 90 invited talks in 28 states and 5 different countries. Dr. Woods is a founding member of the Tourette Syndrome Association’s Behavioral Sciences Consortium, and is a member of the TSA’s Medical Advisory Board.

Dr. Woods also is a specialist in Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention Training also known as CBIT. CBIT is a non-drug treatment for helping to reduce tic severity.
