Santa Clarita, CA, May 20, 2007 --(PR.com)-- On Wednesday morning, May 16, 2007, the Santa Clarita Valley Rotary Club received a certificate of appreciation during a dedication ceremony at Old Orchard Elementary School in Newhall. This ceremony was held to formally thank the Rotary Club for its donation of a play area and equipment to the school.

Nick Lentini of the Rotary Club was the chairman of the committee that was responsible for installing a fence to enclose a play area and for purchasing equipment to be used by Old Orchard’s special needs children. These children, from three elementary schools in the Newhall School District, have severe disabilities, including cerebral palsy, autism, neurological impairments, and mental retardation. This play area and equipment will enable them to improve their fine and gross motor skills in a safe and educational environment.

Burkhartsmeyer, whose own children attended Old Orchard Elementary, as well as Rotarians Bart Aikman, Jim Lentini, Bob Noville, Greg Nutter, and Rotary Club president Ken Petersen.
