Terracare Associates Receives Excellence in Landscape Award

LIttleton, CO, March 01, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Terracare Associates (TCA) was honored for their turfgrass maintenance effort at one of Denver’s most recognizable landmarks, the University of Denver, by the Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado (ALCC) at their annual Excellence in Landscape Award ceremony on February 8, 2012.

Terracare Associates was recognized under the category of Public Works and Special District Maintenance. TCA is responsible for 1.5 million acres on the university’s campus, and the high pedestrian traffic provides a unique challenge for TCA crews. TCA meets this challenge by stopping operations to allow for student passage during class changes, keeping the campus clean and free of debris, and communicating safety hazards or areas of concern to DU staff.

“It’s an international campus, with many visitors,” said Ashley Stiles, Landscape Design and Business Manger with TCA. “People in that community are proud of DU, and a lot of people get to see us. It’s a difficult property to maintain, but we work closely with DU staff to maintain safety.”

Terracare Associates has been a member of the ALCC for over thirty years, and the awards competition honors landscape professionals that design, install, irrigate, renovate and manage landscapes at private and commercial properties throughout the state.
