American Liberty Hospitality-Owned Embassy Suites Houston-Downtown Continues Successful “Cans for a Cause” Package Benefiting the Star of Hope

The hotel donated more than 1,300 pounds of food in the program’s first year.

Houston, TX, March 08, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Guests from as far as Australia continue to help fight hunger in the nation’s fourth largest city as part of Embassy Suites Houston-Downtown’s successful “Cans For A Cause” package which launched last year when the hotel opened in February 2011.

Hotel guests who present three or more non-perishable, canned or boxed food items at the Front Desk upon check-in receive $10 off their room rate. All proceeds benefit the Star of Hope, a facility dedicated to meeting the needs of homeless men, women and their children.

It is estimated that the hotel donated more than 1,300 pounds of food to the Star of Hope in the program’s first year.

“We are overwhelmed by the response from our guests and look forward to extending the program through 2012,” says the Embassy Suites General Manager Scott Austin.

Overlooking Discovery Green Park and minutes from Minute Maid Park, the Houston Zoo and Museum District, the family friendly, all-suite hotel offers daily cooked-to-order breakfast and a nightly Manager’s Reception.

The Cans For A Cause package is available through December 31, 2012. For reservations, call 888-482-0230 or visit HoustonDowntown.EmbassySuites.com.
