Los Angeles County Offers $900 Discount on Green Building Workshops

Workshops Help Contractors Participate in Rebate Programs and Get More Green Building Jobs

Los Angeles, CA, March 08, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Build It Green announced today that Energy Upgrade California in Los Angeles County (www.energyupgradeca/LACounty.org) is offering scholarships for a series of three green building workshops for contractors working in Los Angeles County. Through scholarships, contractors can take the workshops for as little as $100, a discount of $900 off the regularly priced $1000 workshop series.

The workshops take building professionals from the basics of green building through more advanced building performance techniques and will help contractors get certified so they can qualify to participate in Energy Upgrade California’s Green Label Rebate Program.

Energy Upgrade California is a one-stop-shop for home improvement projects that lower energy use, conserve water and natural resources, and make homes healthier and more comfortable. Homeowners also have the option to get the GreenPoint Rated label for their home by adding a few upgrades that will further reduce the home’s environmental impact.

In Los Angeles County, rebates of up to $8000 are available to help offset the cost of the energy upgrades and an additional rebate of up to $2000 is available to homeowners getting their home GreenPoint Rated.

Contractors interested in helping homeowners get the Green Label Rebate must possess certification as a GreenPoint Rater, which they can achieve through this upcoming workshop series. A media campaign educating homeowners about this rebate program will be launching in LA County in early March. Thousands of California homeowners will be directed to the website’s list of certified contractors.
