ABC Pediatrics of Dunn Now a Contracted Provider of TRICARE Insurance for Military Families

ABC Pediatrics of Dunn, NC is now a contracted provider of TRICARE Insurance for military families. ABC Pediatrics wants to service military families and personnel working and living in and around Ft. Bragg and Pope Air Force Base.

Dunn, NC, March 16, 2012 --(PR.com)-- ABC Pediatrics of Dunn has announced that it is a contracted provider of TRICARE Insurance for military families. The convenient location in Dunn is an easy drive for military families working and living in and around Ft. Bragg and Pope Air Force Base. ABC Pediatrics has been offering patients from birth to age 21 state-of-the-art pediatric health care since 1994. With its contract signing, ABC Pediatrics becomes another health care facility to accept TRICARE insurance in Harnett County.

Why is this important? Over the past few years, Harnett County has seen an influx of military families as personnel are re-assigned to Ft. Bragg and Pope Air Force Base from other bases. In addition, areas of Harnett County such as Spring Lake, Carolina Lakes and Anderson Creek have become very attractive to both active and retired military personnel. The military segment of Harnett County’s population is the fastest growing demographic in the county. This presents a need to not only developers and builders but to businesses and health care providers as well. Contracting with TRICARE was important to Drs. Vincent M. Chiodo and Mary Ann Chiodo, owners of ABC Pediatric, because they have been making a concerted effort to serve the pediatric needs of Harnett County as well as neighboring Cumberland County and it's city of Fayetteville. ABC Pediatrics has long served other neighboring counties such as Johnston, Sampson County and Wake since it's founding in 1994. They have consistently adjusted to the changes, challenges and needs of the surrounding communities and believe this contract is a big step in the right direction.

What is TRICARE? TRICARE, formerly known as the Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Uniformed Services (CHAMPUS), is a health care program of the United States Department of Defense Military Health System. TRICARE provides civilian health benefits for military personnel, military retirees, and their dependents, including some members of the Reserve Component. The TRICARE program is managed by TRICARE Management Activity (TMA) under the authority of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Health Affairs). TRICARE is the civilian care component of the Military Health System, although historically it also included health care delivered in the military medical treatment facilities.

TRICARE Network providers have signed a contract to accept a negotiated rate and file TRICARE claims. You'll get care from network providers when enrolled in TRICARE Prime or the TRICARE Young Adult-Prime Option and sometimes TRICARE Prime Remote. If using TRICARE Standard and Extra, TRICARE Reserve Select, TRICARE Retired Reserve or the TRICARE Young Adult-Standard Option, you'll pay less for care received from network providers.
