Stopping Our Silence (S.O.S.) is an initiative of Lyric Dance and Vocal Ensemble that encourages Survivors of abuse to take the first step to healing by sharing their stories and breaking their silence. S.O.S. consists of a free one day healing conference followed by two performances.

Held during National Rape Awareness Month in April 2012, S.O.S. conference workshop topics will include, but are not limited to:

Starting faith based ministries for Survivors
Giving yourself permission to live the life you want
Recognizing the warning signs of abuse and ways to help (for family and friends of Survivors)
Supportive listening
Self-love 101
Freedom through forgiveness
Self healing through writing and dance

“Silencing the inner critic” is the theme of this year’s lively, yet blatantly honest, exploration of the learned self-sabotage that survivors of abuse wrangle with. This “inner critic,” and how to overcome it, will be examined through live music, dance, spoken word and comedy.

Stopping Our Silence is presented by Osun 07 Fashions and Lyric Dance and Vocal Ensemble, uplifting communities through education, inspiration and service since 2005.
