Easter Cruises for 2012 from Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines will be celebrating Easter on board its ships this year with a variety of attractive cruises to destinations all over the world. Boudicca will be sailing from Southampton on 2nd April 2012, on a 14-night cruise to the Western Mediterranean, D1206, and Balmoral has a five-night mini-cruise over Easter 2012, L1202, commemorating the fateful Titanic cruise that departed from Southampton 100 years ago.

Ipswich, United Kingdom, March 19, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Guests looking for a longer, more leisurely Easter cruise can join Braemar on her return voyage from the Caribbean, travelling back to Dover via the Azores, on her 16-night M1207 cruise.

The 14-night cruise "Western Mediterranean," aboard Boudicca, calls at a selection of ports in Spain and Portugal. Her first port of call upon leaving Southampton on 2nd April 2012 is Portimăo in the south of Portugal, where the ship is at anchor; next is vibrant Barcelona (Spain), with its stunning Gaudi architecture and dazzling night life. The pretty Spanish port of Almeria is next, and from here guests can choose an optional tour of the magnificent Palace of Alhambra at Granada, steeped in Moorish history. Gibraltar follows, for great shopping, and a chance to travel up to the top of The Rock and meet the famous Barbary Apes. Next port is Ceuta, on the southernmost tip of Spain, just a stone’s throw from the coast of North Africa. Guests on this cruise can see both sides of the Strait of Gibraltar, taking in the view from Gibraltar one day, and from Ceuta the next. Boudicca then continues to Cadiz in Spain, with the option to take a tour to the beautiful city of Seville. The final port of call is Leixoes (for tours to Oporto), Portugal. Oporto is the home of the Port wine industry, and there are tours to visit the famous Port Lodges and enjoy a river cruise on the Douro. Boudicca then returns to Southampton on 16th April 2012 at the end of her cruise.

An added attraction on this cruise is Fred. Olsen’s exclusive, award-winning programme of live entertainment, "Music & Laughter"; this cruise has a theme of "American Songbook." Prices for this cruise start from £1,079 per person, based on two adults sharing an outside twin cabin, Grade "E." The price includes all meals and entertainment on board, including the ‘Music & Laughter’ sessions, as well as port taxes.

The "Belfast and Liverpool" five-night mini cruise aboard Balmoral departs from Southampton on 3rd April 2012, and visits Liverpool – port of departure for so many thousands of migrants and luxury travellers to the New World – and Belfast – the city in which RMS Titanic was built – before returning to Southampton. In Belfast, there will be an opportunity to see the site of the Harland and Wolff shipyard, where RMS Titanic was built between 1909 and 1912. Guests can also see the new state-of-the-art, six-storey visitors’ centre, "Titanic Belfast," at the shipyard, which is opening its doors for the first time in April 2012 to mark the centenary of the maiden voyage of RMS Titanic.

Prices for this historic cruise start from £479 per person, based on two adults sharing an inside twin cabin, Grade "H." The price includes all meals and entertainment on board, as well as port taxes.

Flights for a 16-night Braemar cruise, "Caribbean to the UK" depart from London Gatwick and Manchester on 29th March, 2012, to join the ship in Bridgetown, Barbados. Braemar then visits a galaxy of Caribbean islands; Trinidad, Tobago, St. Vincent, Martinique and St. Maarten, before embarking on her return Atlantic crossing. Relaxed days at sea, including Easter itself, are broken by a final port of call, Ponta Delgada in the Azores, before Braemar docks back in Dover on 14th April, 2012.

This cruise offers several additional attractions, making days at sea lively and interesting, as it has three topics through Fred. Olsen’s exclusive, award-winning Vistas onboard enrichment programme. Vistas is a programme of special interests offered on selected cruises, hosted by experts, at no extra costs to guests participating. The themes on this cruise are "Classical Music," "Choirs at Sea" and "Luxury Travel."

This cruise has limited availability, and prices start from £1,454 per person, based on two adults sharing a twin, outside cabin, Grade "E." The price includes fully escorted charter flights to Barbados and transfers to the ship, accommodation, and all meals and entertainment on board, plus port and airport taxes.
