Film Chattanooga is holding its first semi-annual Happy Hour event to take place at “The Social,” on March 27th, at 5:00pm.

Chattanooga, TN, March 21, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Film Chattanooga is holding its first semi-annual Happy Hour event to take place at “The Social,” a popular bar attached to the Public House Restaurant in downtown Chattanooga. The gathering will begin on Tuesday, March 27th, at 5:00pm and last until 7:00pm. Industry professionals and film lovers alike are encouraged to attend. The gathering is also open to the general public. The purpose of the event is to promote networking among local film and television professionals.

“It may be surprising to some people that film and television production is a very viable growth industry in southeast Tennessee,” says Dave Porfiri, founder and president of the Chattanooga Film Society. "With the upcoming Harrison Ford movie, '42,' millions of dollars will be pumped into the local economy. Locals will be employed on the film and for those currently working in film production or hoping to in the future, networking is of vital importance. A get-together like this is one of the best ways for those people to meet each other in a relaxed setting."

Film Chattanooga, an initiative of the Chattanooga Film Society, promotes film production activity in Southeast Tennessee and aims to raise the professional standards for the film and television production community in the region.
