"This is a great opportunity in the fight against AIDS," said Victor Mooney.

New York, NY, March 21, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The International AIDS Society (IAS) based in Geneva, Switzerland has just informed New York City AIDS activist, Victor Mooney that his coastal row from New York City to Washington, DC will be an affiliated independent event for the XIX International AIDS Conference. Along Mr. Mooney's coastal row that will begin in early July, he'll stop at various marinas to promote AIDS 2012 conference, AIDS-free generation and voluntary HIV/AIDS testing. In New York, Kingsborough Community College, Maritime Technology Program and SUNY Maritime College are lending some expertise for Mooney's efforts. Mooney's custom made ocean rowboat is coming from Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The International AIDS Conference is the largest gathering of professionals working in the field of HIV, including people living with HIV and other leaders in the HIV response. It plays a fundamental role in shaping the global response to HIV and in keeping HIV and AIDS on the international political agenda – to be held in Washington, D.C., United States from 22 to 27 in July 2012.
