As Park Regis Singapore enters into its second year of operations, the hotel will once again continue its support for Earth Hour 2012 on Saturday, 31 March 2012, from 8:30pm to 9:30pm, by switching off lights to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Singapore, Singapore, March 22, 2012 --(PR.com)-- As Park Regis Singapore enters into its second year of operations, the hotel will once again join more than one billion people across 135 nations to continue its support for Earth Hour 2012 on Saturday, 31 March 2012, from 8:30pm to 9:30pm, by switching off lights to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from electricity generation.

Park Regis Singapore, a contemporary business hotel located in the Central Business District, will be switching off to pledge its support for Earth Hour, a global climate change movement, for the benefit of Mother Earth. As the world unites for this phenomenal global movement, Park Regis Singapore, a brand of StayWell Hospitality Group, will be turning off non-essential lights and taking on the following energy-saving measures:

- Switching off the hotel facade’s decorative lights
- Switching off the hotel facade’s logo lights
- Switching off the lights in the driveway
- Dimming of the hotel interior’s mood lights
- Switching off the lights at the gym, business centre and function rooms
- Dimming of lights at Suite 23 restaurant, Lobby Lounge, Splash Pool Bar and SiLuEt Rooftop Bar, and using tea light candles for illumination

Park Regis Singapore is inviting its guests to support and be involved in Earth Hour, a global environmental awareness event organised by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), and play a part in the hotel’s fight against climate change towards a sustainability future. Guests are encouraged to switch off the lights in the guestrooms and other electrical devices, and visit the lobby lounge as Park Regis Singapore serves up complimentary soft drinks from 8:30pm to 9:30pm.

“Participating in Earth Hour for the second time since the hotel opened its doors is part of Park Regis Singapore’s ongoing commitment to sustainability as we play a role for a cleaner and greener environment. We take on the responsibility to build our sustainability knowledge and look forward to further promote green consciousness within the organisation and champion the reduction of energy consumption to do our part for Mother Earth,” said Mr Jason Dowd, General Manager, Park Regis Singapore.
