Jesuit High School Upgrades to "First-Class" with Fieldturf

Premier baseball program turns to FieldTurf in stadium-wide upgrade

New Orleans, LA, March 23, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Jesuit Bluejays have made the switch to FieldTurf DoublePlay, and are proudly never looking back. Known as a first-class baseball program, the school recently inaugurated its brand new stadium with a whopping 1,500 people attending. Jesuit won the game 6-1 vs. Holy Cross, and former alum were on hand to witness the historic event.

“This is really big because you got a chance to see how successful Jesuit athletics have been over the years, and now to have a facility like this is pretty amazing!” Said former Major League star and proud alum Will Clark.

Clark was a first baseman who enjoyed his best years playing for the San Francisco Giants. He earned the nickname "Will the Thrill" while playing at Jesuit High School, and represents the great tradition to emerge from Jesuit baseball. The hope is now with FieldTurf installed at John Ryan Stadium (home of the Bluejays), the program will continue its emblem of success and produce future stars and careers like Will Clark.

John Ryan Stadium now includes a covered grandstand, a digital widescreen scoreboard, and a batting facility behind center field. It’s biggest amenity though is the new FieldTurf surface that’s installed. Many high schools are making the switch to FieldTurf Double for their baseball fields, as the product enables the users to customize the field to their liking and build a diamond that reflects how they envision their team playing on it. Selecting DoublePlay is a commitment to safety, a commitment to durability, a commitment to higher performance – all in all, a commitment to winning.
