TIM4biz Prevents Telephone Hacking Hitting West Australian Businesses Hard

Perth, Australia, March 25, 2012 --(PR.com)-- TIM4biz is a company that monitors and alerts businesses of unauthorized usage of telephone systems.

TIM Technologies TIM4biz detected an aggressive and sustained attack on a client's phone system that commenced at 7:30pm on the 19th March 2012 and continued through to 7:30am the following day.

The nature of the attack was the theft of telephone carrier time which in this short period of time amounted to over 1000 international calls being made through the business's telephone system.

By alerting the business to this invisible fraud taking place they were able to put a stop to the ongoing theft by instructing their carrier to block all outbound calls to international and premium numbers till their telephone system maintainer corrected the problem.

If not detected, this attack over a very short period of time could have generated hundreds of thousands of calls costing the business many tens of thousands of dollars.

This is only one of rapidly increasing instances of toll fraud in as many months. There is no doubt that these attacks are becoming more aggressive and frequent.

It's a growth industry of organized crime worldwide reaping US$4.9 billion* per year.

TIM4biz urges concerned office managers and IT administrators to take precautions against such activity occurring on their phone systems.
