Brooklyn Industries Dumbo Celebrates Its One-Year Anniversary with a Special Screening of Brooklyn Boheme

Building community based partnerships has remained an integral part of the Brooklyn Industries mission. To celebrate the first anniversary of the Dumbo location, Brooklyn Industries will be highlighting their most recent community partners.

Brooklyn, NY, March 30, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Brooklyn Industries in Dumbo is celebrating its one-year anniversary on April 4th at 70 Front Street in Brooklyn, NY from 7pm – 9:30pm with an intimate screening of the critically acclaimed documentary, Brooklyn Boheme. Guests will enjoy the exclusive film screening with refreshments, director meet and greet and a VIP shopping experience.

Brooklyn Boheme is a love letter to a vibrant artistic community who lived in Fort Greene and Clinton Hill Brooklyn during the 80's and 90's that included the great Spike Lee, Chris Rock, Branford Marsalis, Rosie Perez, Saul Williams, Lorna Simpson, Talib Kweli just to name a few. Narrated and written by Fort Greene resident Nelson George, this feature length documentary celebrates "Brooklyn's equivalent of the Harlem Renaissance" and follows the rise of a new kind of artist, the Brooklyn Boheme.

During the event, Brooklyn Industries will unveil the collaborative tee created for the Brooklyn Public Library. This tee was designed and manufactured in Brooklyn to celebrate and support a timeless and important fixture in the community. Proceeds from this T-shirt will enable the Brooklyn Public Library to remain a vital source of information and empowerment for all Brooklyn residents.
