Safe Body Art Act (AB 300) Training Offered in Sacramento, CA

The Body Art Training Group will present the bloodborne pathogens segment of an all-day training program on California’s new Safe Body Art Act (AB 300). This training will be given on Monday, April 2 in Sacramento, CA at the Annual Educational Symposium of the California Environmental Health Association

San Diego, CA, April 02, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Body Art Training Group announced today that Kathy Hartman, one of its instructors, will teach a two-hour class entitled “Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Training” on Monday, April 2 in Sacramento, CA at the Annual Educational Symposium of the California Environmental Health Association. This class is designed for body art professionals and registered environmental health specialists.

This class is part of the Safe Body Art Act (AB 300) Compliance Training Program that is sponsored by a coalition of professional organizations including the California Association of Environmental Health Administrators; the Association of Professional Piercers, the Alliance of Professional Tattooists, the California Alliance for the Promotion of Safe Body Art; and the Health Officers Association of California. Since January 2012, this training program has been offered at eleven other locations throughout California. The Safe Body Art Act was signed into law on October 9, 2011. This law applies to all body art including piercing, tattoos and permanent cosmetics. The law became effective on January 1, 2012 but the compliance date for registration and facility permitting is July 1, 2012.
