Honorable Frank Kendall to Present DoD Strategic Acquisition and Logistics Priorities

Acting Under Secretary of Defense, The Honorable Frank Kendall, will be presenting the Department's strategic acquisition and logistics initiatives to Defense and Industry leaders at Defense Strategies Institute's Logistics and Materiel Readiness Summit taking place May 22-23, 2012 in Alexandria, VA.

Alexandria, VA, April 04, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The DoD Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics Chief will be addressing senior members of the Defense Community at Defense Strategies Institute's Logistics and Materiel Readiness Summit. The Honorable Frank Kendall will present the Department's initiatives to meet the demands of warfighters around the globe in a fiscally austere environment. The Under Secretary's remarks will focus on achieving better buying power, delivering rapid acquisition for critical needs, and an evaluation of current programs and supply chains.

As the DoD continues to operate at an extraordinarily high tempo around the world, the necessity for materiel readiness and reliable logistics support is absolutely critical to maintaining the effectiveness and safety of our Armed Forces. DSI’s Defense Logistics and Readiness Summit will bring together thought leaders, policy makers, military service members, and solution providers to discuss and determine the way forward for the logistics community.
