San Diego, CA, April 08, 2012 --(PR.com)-- AIGA, the professional association for design, hosted the 17th annual Y Design Conference on March 30th and 31st at the University of San Diego. This year, the San Diego chapter President Amy Levine and the current AIGA board turned to Jacob Tyler and AIGA-SD Past President and current Jacob Tyler President and Chief Creative Officer Charles Van Vechten to develop the brand concept and theme for the annual conference. Jacob Tyler came on board as a supporting sponsor providing all event marketing collateral including, theme development, corporate identity, campaign strategy, social media and interactive web design for the two-day design conference.

Throughout the conference, organizers focused on advancing design as a professional craft, strategic tool and vital cultural force. With highly respected design experts converging from across the United States, the AIGA Y Design Conference discussed a variety of professions under the umbrella of communication design, ranging from book and type design to interactive design and experience design.

“I’m a strong believer in giving back to the community,” said Jacob Tyler President Charles Van Vechten. “We have a really strong design community here in San Diego and this event is a great way to help to foster growth and awareness throughout the entire country. Jacob Tyler is proud to offer our services as a contribution to promote the cause of superior design and creative strategy. Furthermore, we are really excited about being an integral part of such a successful event.”

During the conference, AIGA facilitated interactive seminars and inspiring Thinkshops where attendees interacted in small intimate workshops with fellow design specialists.

“We have some of the brightest minds in the design industry coming to San Diego,” said Van Vechten. “I’m thrilled to know we all can engage in creative conversation about the industry and how to grow our skills and thinking to better serve our clients.”

This years event was the most successful yet with a sellout crowd 2 weeks in advance. Sixty additional seats were then added in a satellite lounge created specifically for attendees that missed out on initial ticket sales. These seats were sold out as well prior to the event. “I am thrilled with the engaging design our team created for the Y Conference and really feel it was instrumental (along with an amazing all-star panel) in generating interest and a sell-out crowd supporting AIGA,” said AIGA-SD Past Communications Chair and current Jacob Tyler CEO, Les Kollegian.

AIGA is the oldest and largest membership association for professionals engaged in the discipline, practice and culture of visual communication and graphic design. AIGA was founded in 1914 and now represents more than 22,000 designers through national activities and local programs developed by 66 chapters and more than 150 student groups.
