AOY Photography & Skilled Crafts Show: Journey

The Artists of Yardley (AOY) presents the second annual Photography & Skilled Crafts Show, with the theme: Journey from April 13 to April 29. All are welcomed to the opening reception on Friday, April 13 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. This free event is open to the public.

Yardley, PA, April 10, 2012 --(PR.com)-- "We are thrilled to open our second photography and skilled crafts show," said Dana Matas, show co-chair, who is a graphic designer and photographer. "This year we will have a bigger variety of artwork that includes jewelry and clothing as well. We received great support from the community last year and we are hoping that everyone will come out and support us this year."

On Friday, April 27, AOY will host a "Meet the artist" evening from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Various artists who have artwork in the show will present a short talk or answer questions about their work during a slideshow. Come out and learn more about the artists in your community! Refreshments will be served. The event is free and open to everyone.

Artwork in various media will include photography, clothing, textiles, pottery, ceramics, jewelry, and sculpture. All artwork is for sale. Refreshments will be provided by Palate restaurant of Newtown, PA, Villa Rosa in Yardley, PA and Buds and Bowls, of Lawrenceville, NJ. Show hours: Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays. Check the website for times, which vary slightly each day.

About AOY: AOY is a resource for the support and encouragement of local visual artists and for the benefit and enrichment of the community. Established in 2004 as an arts organization in the Yardley area, AOY has evolved with over 150 artists in a full spectrum of disciplines. AOY, a non-profit 501(c)3, is dedicated to nurturing the creative spirit of the community by educating and encouraging individuals to experience, appreciate and share in the arts. AOY hosts several shows and activities throughout the year including: a juried arts show, photography and skilled crafts show, members' show, Harvest Night, holiday handcrafted gift show, and open studio tours. Children and adults may enroll in a variety of educational art workshops, classes, camps, and open studio sessions throughout the year.
