Sun City, AZ, April 10, 2012 --(PR.com
)-- The Medal Play Golf Tour visited Palmbrook Country Club in Sun City Saturday on a perfect day for golf. “The conditions for scoring were perfect today,” commented tour director Blane Freytag. “The weather was perfect with no wind and the course was in excellent condition today.” Palmbrook Country Club is a traditional style course which is a good break from all the desert type courses we typically play.
The Championship Division took advantage of the scoring opportunities. Lee Bryant, fresh off the plane from Vancouver, BC utilized 4 birdies on the back nine to edge out tour veteran Joe White by a single stroke for his first victory in as many tries. Alan Granby was third.
The Gold Division saw Carl Thackeray break thru with his first win on tour. “I am really happy for Carl,” stated Freytag “He has come close in the past, it is good to see him break thru.” Dick Colt, Mike Edmonds and Steve Swan all tied for second with Colt winning the scorecard playoff.
The Silver Division saw 2011 Player of the Year Matt Horner return to the winners circle for his first victory of the season.
The tour returns to action at Trilogy at Vistancia in Peoria on Saturday April 21st.
