GS1 EPCglobal Software Certification Mark for EPCIS Awarded to FastPoint Technologies

FastPoint Technologies is recognized as a provider of certified software solutions for Electronic Product Code Information Services (EPCIS).

Lake Forest, CA, April 11, 2012 --(PR.com)-- GS1® EPCglobal® has awarded its software certification mark to FastPoint Technologies for its Track & Trace System (FastPoint Track & Trace). EPCglobal, part of the not-for-profit supply chain standards organization GS1, is dedicated to driving the adoption of the Electronic Product Code™ (EPC) for supply chain excellence.

The certification mark ensures that software products have been tested and will work in predictable ways within the overall architecture of the EPC Network. The mark is awarded by the EPCglobal Software Certification Program, a standards-based compliance testing program that provides a neutral and authoritative source for testing EPC/RFID software and providing information regarding certified products and the vendors who manufacture them.

“We are very excited to receive this prestigious mark from GS1 EPCglobal,” said Soheil Raissi, FastPoint’s President & CEO. “Our Track & Trace System is now recognized as a certified EPCIS platform that can be used by manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors to ensure product security and supply chain integrity.”

“EPCIS certification is a significant milestone in our vision to build the most advanced suite of integrated products on a standards-based platform architected with leading-edge technologies,” said James McCrory, FastPoint’s Chief Technology Officer. “The combination of EPCIS and ePedigree certifications from GS1 EPCglobal demonstrates FastPoint’s commitment to providing high-value solutions to our customers.”

EPC Information Services (EPCIS) is an EPCglobal standard designed to enable EPC-related data sharing within and across enterprises.

“By choosing software with an EPCglobal Software Compliance Certification Mark, the end-user can be confident that the software will perform according to defined EPCglobal standards,” said Nicholas Fergusson, Director Certification of EPCglobal at GS1. “With this information readily available, they will have more time to focus their resources on completing pilots and capturing information.”

To receive the software certification mark, FastPoint Track & Trace had to pass rigorous testing conducted by MET Laboratories, a third-party, nationally-recognized testing facility located in Baltimore, Maryland in the United States. The EPC software certification mark includes an 18-digit Global Service Relation Number (GSRN) that is globally unique to that specific software product.
