Laura Umansky Named One of the 2012 Inaugural Stars on the Rise Award Recipients by the Decorative Center Houston

Houston, TX, April 14, 2012 --(PR.com)-- On March 1st, the Decorative Center Houston selected their 2012 inaugural “Stars on the Rise” recipients and Laura Umansky was chosen as one of the eight designers on the rise. Established over a decade ago at Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles, and then in 2008 at the Decorative Center Houston, the Stars of Design Awards identifies professionals who have attained distinguished recognition in various fields of design. This year, the Decorative Center Houston added a new facet to the Stars of Design awards – Stars on the Rise, which recognizes the promising talent of designers forty years or younger that have already made a significant mark in the design world. Houston interior designer Laura Umansky of Laura U, Inc. was selected by a panel of judges as a recipient of this year’s award. As a leader in the interior design field, Laura has been widely recognized by her industry and by the press. Over the last four years, Laura has been recognized by the interior design industry through six design awards and six honorable mention awards for her interiors (American Society of Interior Designers TGCC).
