Village of Norridge Announces Green Committee and Schedule of Earth Week Clean-Up and Recycling Events

Norridge, IL, April 14, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Village of Norridge is pleased to announce the formation of its first-ever Green Committee. The group is comprised of volunteer residents who were appointed by village president, Ron Oppedisano. The Green Committee plans to raise residents’ awareness about current green and environmentally friendly programs the village has in place. In addition, the committee will work to uncover and implement new environmental sustainability efforts in order to help the village and its residents reduce their environmental footprints.

President Oppedisano said, “I reached out to a number of village residents to help form the first-of-its-kind Green Committee for the Village of Norridge. The health of our environment should be something we all share an interest in and I am glad the committee will assist residents in understanding how they can help. Taking care of the environment is also very important to me personally, so I am extremely proud of the committee’s efforts. I look forward to working with them and hope all Norridge residents learn more about protecting our environment and are inspired to act.”

The Green Committee will be part of the Norridge Harwood Heights Little League Opening Day festivities on Sunday, April 15, 2012. They plan to ride in the parade and speak at the opening ceremonies taking place at the Norridge Park District.
