Rescue Chocolate to Sponsor Los Angeles' Swanky 3rd Annual Fluffball

Los Angeles, CA, April 14, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Rescue Chocolate will be among the companies represented at the 3rd annual Fluffball, on Saturday, April 28, at a private Los Angeles estate. Money raised at the invitation-only event will benefit Best Friends Animal Society.

According to organizer Beth Doane, last year’s Fluffball was attended by over 200 of Hollywood’s social elite, raising $30,000 for Best Friends. This year, the charity gala will be hosted by actress Emmanuelle Vaugier (Two and Half Men, CSI). VIP attendees will discover Rescue Chocolate’s best-selling vegan bar in their goodie bags: Peanut Butter Pit Bull. All of the chocolate company’s products are sold to raise money for various animal rescue organizations.

Rescue Chocolate founder, Sarah Gross, said she gets hundreds of donation requests every year. “Every cause is worthy, because the animals are all so needy,” she said. “But I especially wanted to support the Fluffball. It attracts movers and shakers who can really make a difference.”

Other sponsors of the event include Astin Martin, Rain Tees, Pop Chips, and Volcanica Candles. Among the auction items that partiers will be able to bid on are an eco-friendly pet bed from Better Buddies, luxury skincare products from Osea Malibu, and a Dog Pacer treadmill.

Fluffball organizers are hoping to raise $50,000 for the animal society this year. Best Friends Animal Society runs the nation's largest sanctuary for abused and abandoned animals. On any given day, there are about 1,700 dogs, cats and other animals living at the sanctuary, located in Kanab, Utah.

“It’s a little incongruous,” Gross said. “Chocolate from the East Coast, and celebrities from the West Coast, coming together to help animals in the red rock canyons of Utah. But, it’s going to save lives, so why not?”
