)-- On Monday, April 30th, 2012 the 13th annual Newport Beach Film Festival will present its Australian Spotlight, an evening celebration of Australian cinema and culture. The event will feature the West Coast Premiere of the award-winning film, Swerve, followed by a festive post screening gala.
Swerve is an action-packed thriller following Colin (David Lyons), as he tries to do the right thing with a suitcase full of cash that he finds after a car crash. “The Festival continues a proud tradition of presenting the very best in Australian Cinema. Swerve is a Hitchcockian style thriller that keeps you guessing from the opening scene – smart directing and great acting make this a must see of 2012,” stated Gregg Schwenk, CEO of the Newport Beach Film Festival.
The Spotlight film will screen on Monday April 30, 2012 – 8:00pm at the Regency Lido Theater (3459 Via Lido, Newport Beach, CA 92663). The post-screening celebration will take place at the Pacific Rim gala in the center of Fashion Island. The evening will include 12 top restaurants serving signature tastings, multiple DJs and live entertainment. Fashion Island retail partners, Lucky Brand and Z Gallerie will offer special in-store promotions and entertainment.
