ICRC-Weyer GmbH, a contract research organization (CRO) based in Berlin, Germany, has launched new corporate pages on the world’s leading social networks, Facebook and Google Plus. The company intends to take a pioneering role within the clinical research community by interacting with a global audience and sharing insights with the next generation of clinical research professionals.

The company has been maintaining an active presence on business oriented networks such as LinkedIn and Xing and has now extended its social media activities to a wider audience.
The decision to actively engage in this still relatively new type of media was made not just as a reaction to the recent developments in social media on the Internet, but also as a pro-active move to disseminate clinical research information to a wider audience. “Our existing presence on the large business networks has been successful and we are planning on increasing our efforts on these platforms, especially in regards to discussion boards and special interest groups,” says Simone Ahrens, a Managing Director & Director of Client Relations at ICRC-Weyer. “However, there is a lot more to share with the clinical research community, e.g. via academic institutions, and even to an audience that might not be directly related to the industry – yet.
