Santa Ana, CA, April 25, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Gay & Lesbian Community Services Center of Orange County (The Center OC) will host the 19th annual Hermosa y Protegida HIV Prevention Pageant on Saturday, April 28 at the Pearson Park Amphitheatre in Anaheim. The event regularly draws a crowd of around 500.

In addition to the glitz and glamour of a beauty pageant, Hermosa y Protegida creatively presents life-saving messages about HIV transmission and prevention. The number of new HIV infections continues to grow in Orange County, and the Hispanic and Latino population is disproportionately affected by the disease.

Who will win the 2012 Hermosa y Protegida crown? The entertaining Spanish-language event promises to provide plenty of drama, with nine contestants who are previous winners of other pageants.
