Playground Makeover for Texas Schools

Creative Playground Painting gets kids Outside, Active and Excited.

Old Saybrook, CT, April 27, 2012 --(PR.com)-- “Build Strong Bones” “My Plate Food” and “Centipedes” would seem like classroom topics for most kids. Not if you are one of the many that attend the Austin Independent School District. These kids will soon get some serious play-time on their freshly stenciled playgrounds.

AISD has teamed up with Dairy Max and Fuel Up To Play 60 designing a custom set of playground stencils to get kids outside, active and educated about food choices.

Stenciling skeletons, food images and creatures onto blacktop playground games such as hopscotch, jump rope and twister are just a few of the enhancements these playgrounds will offer. The program emphasizes locomotor skills, active play, awareness of the body and the importance of excersise. AISD, Dairy Max and Fuel Up To Play 60 chose Stencilease.com as the supplier for each playground stencil kit. The design staff at Stencilease.com worked closely with all groups to advise, engineer and manufacture a complete set of custom playground stencils for this initiative. The stencils will be painted on the playgrounds by PTO volunteers, students and AISD staff.

Griffon Ramsey, designer of the Active Play Stencils, was also the creative director of this district-wide project.

Stencilease.com has been manufacturing stencils for over 30 years and currently produces over 30,000 items. All of the stencils can be customized and cut on a variety of plastic materials for any painting application.
