Alpaca Futurity Show Covered Live for First Time Ever by Start-Up Alpaca News Agency

Alpaca Culture Brings Important Event to the Public

Sandpoint, ID, April 29, 2012 --(PR.com)-- In an industry first, the start-up alpaca news agency, Alpaca Culture covered a major alpaca industry event via live webcast. The 15th Anniversary Alpaca Futurity from the Fonner Park Complex in Grand Island, Nebraska this past weekend was seen online in real time all over the world. Alpaca enthusiasts, breeders, researchers, textile producers and scientists who were unable to make the trip were able to watch the live production from AlpacaCulture.com with just a click.

Three big events come together in the Alpaca Futurity to forge the biggest weekend of the year in the North American Alpaca Industry; The Futurity Sale - an auction featuring some of the best alpaca genetics from North America’s top breeding farms, The Futurity Show - considered the most competitive alpaca show in the country, and The Small Breeders Challenge - an AOBA certified show just for breeders with twenty or less registered females. In all, the Futurity hosts over 750 alpacas from the top 250 breeding farms in North America.

According to web analytics, the first live coverage of the Futurity by Alpaca Culture earned 1,213 visits from people around the globe. Viewers came from a total of fifteen countries including England, Canada, Peru, Egypt, Germany and others. Early input from industry contacts indicates a positive response to the coverage across the board.

A television truck equipped with seven cameras was used to capture events, which included interviews with show winners, crowd members, judges and experts, conducted by host Jared Johnston and co-host, Meyla Bianco Johnston. The historic broadcast precipitated media coverage by ABC affiliate, Nebraska TV, and 1011 or KGIN-TV.

Full thirty-second commercials for sponsors were aired during the broadcast. They included: Amber Autumn Alpacas, American Alpaca Textiles, Andean Royalty, Applewood Lane Alpacas, Cloud Hollow Farm, Maine Top Mill, RobAsia Alpaca Ranch, Tripping Gnome Farm, Selle Design Group, Snowmass Alpacas and Quechua Enterprises.
