)-- The critically acclaimed sketch comedy film Nut’n Nice, which it is scheduled for an August release, is opening up a nation-wide talent search for their upcoming Nut’n Nice Live! Tour later this year.
Nut’n Nice’s production company, Artistic Warfare, and its executives are reaching out to all the untapped talent hidden in the US. “We want to create a venue and opportunity for many of the talented people that our audience has not seen,” explains Keu Reyes, CEO of Artistic Warfare.
The Nut’n Nice Live! Tour will be a show composed of live music, dancing, comedy, poetry, motivational speaking, and magic, amongst many other elements that industry insiders predict equals to a very successful venture.
However, even though it is probably inevitable, the Nut’n Nice Live! Tour is not all about having a good time and interwoven into the program are many items on an agenda full of opportunities to give back to the community. The Nut’n Nice Live! show will include a campaign to encourage the attending audience to register to vote right on the spot by filling out their voter’s registration cards, and the production taking care of the rest.
Nut’n Nice Live! also will attempt to hire as many people in need of employment as possible, including making part of their cast some of the local homeless in each of their 20-city visits. At the end of the show, audience members can choose to sponsor a homeless person by providing any resources they may have available, such as housing, employment, food, or financial support.
“We want to make sure we are giving back to the communities that support us so much,” says Demarco Allen, who is the VP of Product Development & Process at Artistic Warfare. “We might not be able to change the world for everyone, but we can sure change at least one person’s world. Our expectations are realistic, yet powerful,” Allen continued.
Regarding the talent search, Ricardo Love, who heads Artistic Warfare’s Music Production Department, says that “Nut’n Nice Live! is currently looking for musicians, dancers, poets, comedians, singers, magicians, and any other creative talent that has the ambition to showcase their abilities in a big scale.”
The Nut’n Nice Live! Show has already pre-sold thousands of tickets and the show has not even entered the rehearsal stages. “It truly has been amazing and we are really grateful to all of our fans that always stand by us one hundred percent of the time,” says Reyes regarding the overwhelmingly great reception to the project. “We are open to the people,” Reyes continues, “but when it comes to performing any art in a live forum, it’s a whole different ballgame. We are looking for those individual artists that are ready to join a true pioneering team.”
The Nut’n Nice film and double CD soundtrack can be purchased through Nut’n Nice’s official website; however, the greatest part of Nut’n Nice, is that it gives back as much to the community as the community gives to Nut’n Nice. For lack of better words, Nut’n Nice is a “snapshot” into a sub-cultural genre that is so very often ignored by mainstream society.
