Abilene, TX, May 02, 2012 --(PR.com
)-- Abilene ISD in Texas has completed their installation of FieldTurf Revolution at Shotwell Stadium. The new surface replaces the 10-year-old turf field, and includes customized alternate logos in the endzones for Abilene and Cooper High School. Shotwell Stadium is used for a wide array of sports at all competing levels, and the investment in FieldTurf looks to prove its worth as high usage rates are anticipated on the field for years to come.
“I think we got a (great) buy and got maximum value with this Revolution,” said AISD construction coordinator Joe Humphrey. “We think we’re a key West Texas district and people look to us because we were one of the first to have artificial turf in West Texas and we want to continue to be on the forefront of these things and do the right thing.”
The school district can now claim it offers its student athletes a surface that provides the necessary safety measures and performance-enabling features to succeed on the field. Shotwell stadium is home to multiple programs, and has a long storied history of impressive feats on its ground. Deciding to upgrade to FieldTurf Revolution makes a statement that Abilene is looking to continue writing history at this venue.
“High School football is tremendously popular within this region and we’re proud to have our stamp on it,” said FieldTurf Southwest Regional Vice President Chuck Bailey. “FieldTurf Revolution will provide Abilene ISD the necessary durability to maintain numerous sports programs with an aesthetically pleasing surface.”
With over 70 fields installed to date, FieldTurf is leaving its mark on high school athletics in Texas. Abilene ISD’s decision to install FieldTurf Revolution further emphasizes the point that FieldTurf’s patented system and unique features provide for a one-of-a-kind sports experience that’s maximized when played in this region. As Abilene’s athletics continue to grow, FieldTurf will be side-by-side every step of the way.
