Japanese Story Sparks Worldwide Celebration

From the mind of Ai Yazawa to a comics series that has sold more than 22 million copies worldwide, to a hit anime series, to a blockbuster movie with a recently released sequel, to rumors of Hollywood companies eager to buy the rights to film their own version. The world continues to be at awe with NANA.

Metro Manila, Philippines, June 05, 2007 --(PR.com)-- As “NANA” is the Japanese word for the number “seven” it has become a prominent element in the series, and an important number for all the fans celebrating their love for it. 07/07/07 is a day that fans worldwide marked to pay homage to Ai Yazawa’s famed series. It is the International NANA Day. In the Philippines, fans are planning for an event like no other.

On July 7, 2007, SEVEN Pilipinas and will be presenting “707” International NANA Day – Philippines at R&B Music Venue, Metrowalk. “707” presents a rock concert paying homage to the series NANA by Ai Yazawa Sensei. Songs from NANA original soundtrack and tribute albums will be performed by the bands 3 Day Trial, Armada, Do’Ahou, Ducklings, Himitsu Heiki, Neotaku, PPF All-Stars, Progeny, Rtschrck, Sourei, This Side Up, and X Versus Zero.

The Cosplay competition has three categories: Individual Female, Individual Male, and Group.

Fan Art Competition entrees can be classified into two categories: Traditional Art and Digital Art.

Fan Video Competition takes entrees with a montage of clips from the anime and/or movie, a slide show of clips of manga or live action parody of any NANA scene over any music of the entrants' choice.

Percentage of the proceeds will go to RockED's program Rock de Rehas, a project to support prison inmates.
