The Medal Play Golf Tour Visits Camelback GC

Scottsdale, AZ, May 09, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Medal Play Golf Tour visited Camelback GC Saturday playing the Padre course. “The Course was in great condition today,” commented tour director Blane Freytag. “A lot of the holes out here had a lot of teeth for a resort course. Players had to play well to post a good score.”

Championship Division – Bob Dillon used a fast start to hold off Rick Olson for his first win on tour. Dillon triple bogeyed 15 and 16, yet hung on for a net 71 to win by two strokes.

Gold Division – The Gold Division needed extra holes to decide the champion. Steve Swan and Colin English both posted even par net 72’s to force a sudden death playoff. Swan pared the first playoff hole to secure his first victory on tour. Leonardus Leufkens was 2 shots back for 3rd place money.

Silver Division – Joe Baxley, playing in his first event, shook off any jitters and posted a net 68 to win by 3 shots over runner ups Jerry Boysen and Tomas Exum. Exum won the scorecard playoff for 2nd. Congratulations to Joe on his excellent performance.

The tour returns to action at the Medal Play Open @ Classic Club in Palm Desert, CA on May 19 & 20.
