One Result and StaySafe
One Result is the technology partner for Safe Apps Ltd with Graham Mills. One Result was originally approached by Graham Mills the MD of Technics Group to develop a safety application that helped protect Lone Workers. After seeing the huge potential in the idea One Result offered Graham the option to not just pay to have the app developed but for One Result to become a partner in the project and provide reduced development costs in exchange for equity. This is something that One Result has been doing for various technology startups through the Innovation Central programme.

Graham says, “Working with One Result has been fantastic, they are technically very strong but also have great commercial awareness. This blend of technology and business acumen is difficult to find and is the reason I selected to partner with them for StaySafe.”

The App
The application provides a great safety tool for anyone travelling, relaxing or working alone or in a vulnerable situation. The app uses GPS tracking to locate the user's position and reports to their chosen emergency contacts should the user not “Check in” within the designated time. The app also notifies the user's contacts when they start a new tracking session or checkin safely as well. For more information about the application please visit www.staysafeapp.com.

About the #SBS
Small Business Sunday otherwise known as #SBS is a competition held every Sunday evening on the social network Twitter between the hours of 5.00PM and 7.30PM. This was created by ‘Dragon’ Theo Paphitis in October 2012. Each week Theo reviews tweets to @TheoPaphitis and retweets his favourite 6. Businesses have to describe their business in one important tweet with the hashtag #SBS.

Theo says, “I admire people who have passion and energy. I was struck by the number of business owners on Twitter who wanted to tell me about their new products and services. Small Business Sunday was born so that people have a specific time slot to tweet and can pitch their ‘sell’ directly to me.”

The Benefits
Theo has over a quarter of a million followers, this provides great exposure on Twitter to the lucky winners. The benefits of becoming part of the SBS club ranges from increased Twitter followers, positive publicity through the media and an increase in awareness and sales.

Theo’s spirit for the SBS
As you probably know Theo is one the of most successful entrepreneurs in the UK best know for his involvement in the TV hit show ‘Dragon’s Den’. Theo is the Chairmain of Ryman Stationary, joint owner of Red Letter Days and has recently setup Boux Avenue.

Theo is also an investor of several other businesses via ‘Dragon’s Den’ including Magic Whiteboard, Wedgewelly and Value My Stuff.

Theo says, “My vision is that everyone who has ever won an #SBS re-tweet from me becomes part of a friendly club. Like-minded individuals can share successes and learnings.”
