New Guide for Creating the Future: Original Virtue Published by Outskirts Press

Author and pastor Robert Granger invites readers to test his hypothesis that all human beings yearn to think positively of themselves and that this yearning stems from original virtue, their innate proclivity for virtuous living.

Eugene, OR, May 16, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Robert Granger announced today the release of Original Virtue from our Beginnings to our Becoming, published by Outskirts Press. Granger invites each reader to enter into a personal search and to test the validity -- much as a scientist might -- of the book’s hypothesis that humans do indeed possess an innate urge for virtuous living.

Rather than requiring an unthinking acceptance of his book’s theme, author Granger encourages readers to consult their own experiences and observations to test if every human being does want to be thought of as good and wants to think of themselves as good, even if it is not visible in behavior. Granger convincingly uses his own background and his personal faith tradition to address the resulting human journey in ways that are down to earth and beyond the confines of any particular faith conviction.

Original Virtue is divided into three parts and Granger’s first order of business is to present the world in which we live as inter-related, inter-dependent, interactive, open-ended and evolving. Such a world presents us with both challenges and opportunities.

Next Granger explores the implications of life as he and his readers have experienced it in their individual evolution thus far, and he encourages us to reflect on our future progression from what we have become to what we are still to become.

Finally Granger reminds us of the sometimes intimidating world of relationships with other people. He offers a new rationale for moving beyond the fears that so often inhibit interactions with others, and he provides practical tools we can use to make the effort of interaction with others less daunting and more satisfying.

Although the past may be prologue to our future, the author concedes, the past does not determine our future; and he offers us solid footing for facing the challenges of that future as we strive to create the future of our potential.
