The Ted Williams Project Announces Release of "A Golden Voice" at the Live Local! Columbus Kick Off Party

Columbus, OH, May 17, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The kick-off party for the re-branded local magazine Live Local! Columbus will be taking place at The Bluestone, located at 583 E. Broad St., on Thursday, May 24th at 6pm. Columbus’s own Ted Williams, the man with the golden voice, will make a special personal appearance. Mr. Williams is celebrating the local release of his first memoir “A Golden Voice” describing his successful journey from being homeless on the streets of Columbus to his new life of sobriety. During these celebrations, Williams will be holding a book signing during the Live Local! Columbus Kick Off party, a concert featuring local artists Forest and The Evergreens and Mount Carmel will follow. A $2.00 door charge will be directly donated to support The Ted Williams Project, a not-for-profit foundation that supports Williams’ mission to assist the homeless community.

Ted Williams was discovered while living and panhandling on the streets of Columbus after an unsuccessful radio career. In 2011, Williams’ voice was recorded by a patron in exchange for money. The patron happened to be a reporter for a local newspaper who posted the video online and the ‘Golden Voice’ video went viral; a video that ultimately changed his life. A recovered alcoholic and drug abuser, Williams has created an organization to help assist the homeless community, and has just completed his first memoir. Williams has become a household name from publicly sharing his past struggles and instills hope and inspiration with his story.

The Bluestone is pleased to host the Live Local! Columbus Kick-off party. The magazine, previously known as the High Street Neighborhood Magazine, is partnering with the Small Business Beanstalk as it launches it’s re-brand with a new name and a new focus on more local topics, offering discounts and rewards for supporting the small businesses in the Columbus metro area.

Constructed initially as a Baptist church 114 years-ago, The Bluestone evolved through a 5-million dollar renovation in 2006, and now boasts seven bars between the three levels and the original soaring stained-glass windows. The Bluestone has created a diverse space to hold any special event: corporate, private, and an ideal general admission venue for concerts. The Bluestone, with its uniqueness and ideal location, has become Columbus’ New Home for Live Music and Private Events.
