SteadyRain Launches Custom Ecommerce Development for Music Licensing Organization, Songfreedom

St. Louis, MO, May 18, 2012 --(PR.com)-- St. Louis based Internet strategy, web design and development firm, SteadyRain, continues its partnership with music licensing organization Songfreedom and announces the launch of its customized ecommerce solution.

Through partnerships with companies that include Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music Enterprises, Warner Music Group and Capitol Records, Songfreedom obtains distribution rights and provides music licensing for videographers, photographers, and other professionals seeking legal and convenient use of popular music tracks for their multimedia creations—a market that, to date, has been largely forgotten and/or ignored by the music industry.

With the enhanced ecommerce solution, visitors to the site will have access to licensed music through Songfreedom’s online store and membership management system. SteadyRain will be extending the system in the coming months to provide a “per song” licensing model, which currently exists outside of the subscription model provided. The ecommerce system also includes coupon and offer support as well as the ability to renew and extend the life of licenses previously purchased through the system.

Customers will also have the opportunity to create a user profile on the Songfreedom website with the ability to access previously licensed song information per project as well as rate and tag those songs as favorites to be used in future projects.

"We have grown with SteadyRain over the last 2 years and are continuing to find new solutions to newly presented opportunities with their help," said Matt Thompson, President and Founder of Songfreedom.

Songfreedom’s unique product offering provided SteadyRain’s web development team the opportunity to create an ecommerce solution that not only allows a user to legally license some of today’s most popular music, such as Jason Mraz, Colbie Caillat, Rob Thomas, and Ingrid Michaelson, but to also create a shopper-rich experience that includes audio samples of the songs available, just as traditional consumer-targeted music sites offer their customers.

In addition to listening to audio samples, Songfreedom’s site allows all users to filter, sort and search products by song attributes, such as tempo, length, rating and event genre to allow them to even more effectively match the track with a project.

“This is a great example of how SteadyRain is solving mission-critical business problems for our clients,” said Eric Baggett, Senior Internet Strategist and Director of Online Marketing. “Songfreedom’s business model is certainly unique and required a high degree of planning and customization—the site is the business which was an incredible opportunity for us to display our product development skills. The resulting solution is something our entire team is proud of.”
