Edgilis Racks Up Contract Wins, Confirms Its Position as Singapore’s Leading System Assurance Consultancy

Edgilis has announced today that it will move into the second half of 2012 with more than $5m worth of new projects within its Risk & Safety division alone, following an aggressive expansion strategy.

Singapore, Singapore, May 22, 2012 --(PR.com)-- With deals signed in Singapore, India, Brunei and the UAE since the turn of the year, the company confirms its position as Singapore’s leading provider of system assurance consulting services. These contracts were awarded from various international engineering and construction companies mostly working on rail and road projects. The services delivered by Edgilis include Independent Risk Assessment, Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety (RAMS) consulting, Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) studies, Independent Software Assessment (ISA) as well as other specialized risk and safety studies.

Singapore accounts for approximately 50% of the firm’s backlog, making it the largest contributor. There, the Risk and Safety team will be working on various LTA projects, including the Sentosa Gateway Tunnel, the Downtown Line, the Tuas West Extension as well as the upgrading of the North East Line. This recent success bodes well for the future says Edgilis CEO Julien Arnaud: “A number of multi-billion railway contracts will be awarded in the months to come, notably the $20-billion Thomson & Eastern Region lines, and Edgilis is well positioned to win pieces of these.”

While the various new LTA developments projects have been keeping the Edgilis busy at home, the team has also expanded its activities overseas, taking on a key role in large infrastructure projects in Brunei, India and UAE. On the Brunei Airport Modernization Project, Edgilis is supporting a publicly listed Malaysian construction company implementing system assurance and EMC assurance detailed works. In India, Edgilis has paired up with local firm Jurong Consultants to offer safety & risk consulting on the Chennai Metro Rail. Edgilis is also accompanying ST Synthesis in Abu Dhabi to offer safety design support on a road tunnel project.

Managing Director Brian Wong who heads Edgilis’ Risk and Safety Practice anticipates an increase in international business for Edgilis as other cities look to emulate Singapore in urban planning. He said: “An increasing amount of underground work is anticipated across Asia and the Middle East. Singapore which is notoriously short on space has therefore developed a unique expertise in tunnel. Having worked across dozens of LTA projects, we are in an ideal position to take the safety lessons we’ve learned here abroad.”
