Working to Create the Best MTG Life Counter Experience Out There

“We have been MTG enthusiasts from a young age, and meet regularly to play, even with some of us having families and kids at home,” says Adi Cicurel, one of MTGLH programmers. “We needed a life counter app to help us keep score in a simple, intuitive way. But we also wanted support for more elaborate MTG features.” Unable to find an app that satisfied them, the group decided to create that app on their own.

With growing popularity of over 30,000 users to date, and supportive feedback they’ve received on MTGLH, they decided to take it to the next level. “We are working to create the best MTG tracking experience out there,” says Adi. The new release provides for the first time full support for EDH games in a clever UI that solve the complex tracking matrix that may arise from these type of games.

“Tracking score for EDH games while keeping a clean and slick experience has been a challenge. Every player knows how tricky this can get, as there’s so much data to keep, and we had to cramp in into the small screen - it can easily become messy and overloaded. Our new UI completely overcame this issue, and made EDH game scores easily trackable and presentable for the first time, which we are very proud of,” says Adi. “Our stats keeping finally enabled us to scientifically prove who the weakest player in our group is - something that we all had a good hunch for, except for them of course!”

Giving Away 3 Rare MTG Cards Valued $200 For Your Feedback

With the release of V3.0 MTGLH are giving away 3 rare cards of their private deck, worth $200 in total, for user feedback on the app. Adi mentions,“This is an app for magic players, by magic players. To make it great, we need to make sure we’re focusing on what users want most.” The rare cards (dual lands) will be given away in a raffle, held amongst contributors whose suggestions are adopted for the next version of Magic’s Little helper.
