Electro Standards Labs Intros Model 4292 LC Duplex A/B/C/D/Offline Switch with both Gigabit Speed and Secure Offline Position

The new Model 4292 from Electro Standards offers the security of password protection and a secure offline position.

Cranston, RI, May 25, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Electro Standards Laboratories (ESL), Cranston, RI, has just announced its new QuickSwitchÒ Model 4292 single channel LC duplex A/B/C/D/Offline Switch with RS232 Remote Port. This versatile switch shares a single port interface device connected to the COMMON port among four other devices connected to the A, B, C, and D ports, or in the offline position, isolates all ports.

Cutting-edge technology intrinsic to this switch includes MEMS-based mirror/prism switch technology that supports Gigabit data rates. The unit is service protocol, bit-rate and data transparent. All fiber optic ports are LC Duplex, Multimode, 50/125 micron, and support a wavelength of 850nm.

This easy-to-use switch can be controlled via front-panel pushbuttons or remotely via a DB9 RS232 connection and ASCII serial commands. For security, the remote control function of the switch is password protected. The remote commands allow the user to control the switch position, lockout the front-panel operations and obtain switch status.

When power is lost, the Model 4292 will switch to the Offline position and stop passing data. When power is restored, the unit will remain in the Offline position until commanded to change.

An optional CE, RoHS and UL listed Wide Range Power Supply is available. This power supply, Catalog No. 517277, is approved for 100VAC/240VAC, 50Hz/60Hz and features an IEC 60320 C14 inlet. The Model 4292 with the Wide Range Power Supply is ideal for worldwide network applications.
