SciPreneur to Offer Summer Programs at ASU’s CTI Academy

SciPreneur aims to attract elementary students and educators through project-based learning to ASU’s College of Technology and Innovation Academy.

Scottsdale, AZ, May 25, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Developing games using bio-plastics, scientifically formulating beverages for a lemonade stand, learning about gases and creating products that fizz are just some of the educational activities being offered through SciPreneur in partnership with Arizona State University’s College of Technology and Innovation and its CTI Academy at the Polytechnic Campus in East Mesa this summer.

Traditionally, the CTI Academy offers programs in technology and engineering for students in grades 6 to 12, but through a partnership with Discover Science 4 Kids and Biz in a Boxx, elementary students entering grades 2 through 6 can now participate in the SciPreneur summer camp programs that focus on science, innovation and entrepreneurship.

Professional development summer camp is also being offered for elementary and middle school educators on Common Core, Project-Based Learning and Teaching in July at the CTI Academy.

The SciPreneur exclusive lineup includes: Slimeology, the Science and Business of Plastics; Fizzology, the Science and Business of Gases and Bath Bombs; Lemonology, the Science and Business of a Lemonade Stand; and, Sugarology, the Science and Business of Sugar and Candy.

All of SciPreneur’s programs and curriculum focus on hands-on, real-world projects that introduce the youngest minds to science, entrepreneurship and innovating new, beneficial products. The goal is to have students connect academics to the world around them through programs that are engaging and relevant.

Summer camp for elementary students is being offered in two separate sessions: June 26-29, 2012 and July 17-20, 2012. The Professional Development camp for educators is being held July 10-13, 2012.
