Ballarat Ready for a Bumper Wedding Affair

Ballarat’s only locally owned and operated wedding expo provides the local wedding industry leaders an opportunity to meet and greet over 600 potential brides & grooms – their wedding parties and families.

Ballarat, Australia, May 26, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The launch of the 2012 Wedding of the Year will be one of the highlights of the Visionary wedding expo in Ballarat on May 27. Couples who are married this year will be eligible for entry into the competition which will have some excellent prizes up for grabs, including the opportunity to showcase their wedding at the January wedding expo.

This is the first time Visionary has held a winter expo but demand after the January event has resulted in a bumper expo this time around. A vast majority of the exhibitors have come from the Ballarat region and all will feature the best offerings of fashion, beauty, cakes, photography, celebrants, transport, venues and hire goods.

Event organiser Rachel Kinscher said the expo was the perfect chance for couples to plan their summer wedding. “This event will really help people speed up their wedding preparation,” Ms Kinscher said. “The whole idea is to make everything easy and accessible. By providing a range of exhibitors couples can see everything that is on offer without having to do all the leg work. You really can cross lots of things off your list in just one day.”

A popular event at the expo is always the fashion parade, comprising designers and suppliers from the region. Dressmaker and boutique Melissa E Bridal will show off its Disney gown collection, which is bound to be a hit, as will the flowergirl and bridesmaid dresses. There will also be lingerie from Intimo Lingerie, boudoir clothing from Reebah and Dee, and bouquets and accessories from Feathers by Faith and Lou Lou’s Florist.

Ms Kinscher said she expected the Wedding of the Year competition to be popular. A panel of industry experts will select finalists prior to a public vote selecting the winning entry. “The feedback we’ve had so far is that this is something brides want,” Ms Kinscher said. “They want to be able to show how good their wedding was. We’re offering a reward for the most innovative wedding.”
