New Novel Captures Aura of New Orleans

Washington, DC, June 11, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Crescent Garden, the first release from Evermore Books, follows the chaotic quest of its protagonist through the dark corners of the French Quarter while paying homage to the city’s seductive allure. Part suspense, part mystery, and part ghost story, the ambition of Crescent Garden is both obvious and ulterior. The plot centers on desperate hero Malcolm Stance, blessed and cursed with burgeoning psychic powers, who travels to the crescent city to save his childhood friend Ridley Trumball from a grisly murder. But author Christopher Love never lets us forget that the aura of New Orleans looms, pushing the protagonist towards a clash with destiny. Noting that New Orleans “filled time with more than it could carry,” Mr. Love reminds us of the hypnotic charm of America’s most fascinating city.

Christopher Love, a graduate of the University of Tennessee (M.A. 2004), began Crescent Garden while living in Baton Rouge where he briefly attended Louisiana State University. Mr. Love hopes that his novel reminds us of the city’s striking mystique: “New Orleans has always thrived through story, music, camera, and brush. Hopefully, Americans will help to restore it.” Mr. Love is an English instructor at Northern Virginia Community College in Annandale, VA.
