Citrin Cooperman Donates Business and Accounting Services to Technically Philly “Switch Philly 3” Contest Winner

Philadelphia, PA, May 27, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Philadelphia office of accounting, tax and business consulting firm Citrin Cooperman will provide several hours of free consulting services to local tech company, SnipSnap, as part of a prize package which the startup received for winning Technically Philly’s “Switch Philly 3” contest. The Switch Philly contest, now in its third year, demos five local tech startups to investors, community members and a panel of judges. The event was created to help contestants “switch” from being categorized as one of many local startup companies to becoming Philadelphia’s next startup success story.

“As a firm dedicated to helping businesses of all shapes and sizes succeed in their respective industries, Citrin Cooperman is proud to support local tech startups through this unique contest,” said Philadelphia Managing Partner Mark S. Carrow, CPA, MST. “The fast-paced tech sector is highly competitive, with technology companies continuously and rapidly evolving. Switch Philly gives local startups an opportunity to claim a section of the market with the help of some of the city’s best entrepreneurial resources.”

SnipSnap is a company that produces an iOS application that digitizes coupons, allowing users to scan, save and redeem printed coupons with their smartphones. As the 2012 winner of Switch Philly, SnipSnap received a prize package that includes space at local startup incubators, mentoring opportunities, consulting services and tech services, including those services provided by Citrin Cooperman.

“The Philadelphia region has been attracting significant corporate investment interest in recent years,” said Citrin Cooperman Partner Brian J. Hoffman, CPA, CFE. “We are a tech-savvy region with a great deal of resources for fledgling technology companies. Citrin Cooperman is pleased to partner with Technically Philly as well as with the other prize contributors, to encourage growth in the area’s technology sector.”

Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter was joined by Josh Kopelman, managing partner of First Round Capital, and Ellen Weber, executive director of Robin Hood Ventures, in judging Switch Philly 3 as part of Philly Tech Week on April 25, 2012. More than 100 attendees were on hand for the contest, with audience voting also considered in the outcome. The other four contestants were Palmling, Inhabi, Yagglo and Airtime.
