Patent Awarded to Minnesota Inventor

Patent awarded to Minnesota inventor for an innovative new fishing rod holder. Awarded the North American Fishing Clubs Field Test Seal of Approval and featured on NAFC TV. Pier Buddy is a pier and dock friendly fishing rod holder that is easy to use and portable.

Roseville, MN, June 13, 2007 --(PR.com)-- In January of 2003 while vacationing in Florida, Lonnie Jaworski, an avid fisherman, watched in horror as a fellow fisherman lost an expensive fishing rod while struggling to reel in another line.

Determined not to have the same thing happen to him, Lonnie went in search of a rod holder that would be pier friendly, easy to use and not require tools to operate, only to find that such a product did not exist.

Working nights and weekends in his garage Lonnie designed a prototype rod holder that would be lightweight, easy to adjust, fast to attach and remove, while not damaging pier rails.

With the help of a local Minnesota manufacturing company, Pioneer Plastics of Eagan, Pier Buddy became a reality on September 24, 2004 and the US Patent Office has now awarded Pier Buddy with Patent # 7,200,968 B2.

The Pier Buddy is now in more that 25 states and bears the North American Fishing Clubs Field Test Seal of Approval. Featured in the July/August/September issue of The North American Fishing Magazine in 2006, Pier Buddy was also spotlighted on NAFC TV in early 2007.
