American Composer's Forum - Los Angeles Announces 2012 Annual Composition Competition

American Composer's Forum - Los Angeles announces the opening of its 2012 annual composition competition. Compositions should be submitted for string trio with an optional electronic component.

Los Angeles, CA, June 07, 2012 --(PR.com)-- American Composer’s Forum-Los Angeles would like to announce the 2012 annual original composition competition. Only entries by ACF-LA members will be accepted. To become an ACF-LA member, please visit their website at www.composersforum.org/join.cfm.

Members are invited to submit a new, original composition that is 5-12 minutes in length, for string trio with an optional electronic component. Composers are encouraged to submit pieces that have not had professional performances. If an electronic component is included, composers must provide their own electronic equipment for the performance.

Winners will receive a performance of their work at a concert at Boston Court on November 27th, 2012, and an archival recording of the performance. The performance will be in conjunction with a Red Hen Press poetry reading by Douglas Kearny (www.douglaskearney.com/) and Nicelle Davis (http://nicelledavis.wordpress.com/)

Submissions will be accepted between July 1 and August 31, 2012. Selected composers will be notified in early October.

To submit: send an entry fee of $20 per composition (no more than 2 works per composer are accepted.) Please make checks payable to “American Composers Forum of Los Angeles.” One copy of the score (no parts necessary at this time), a recording, your contact information (including name, address, phone number, and email address,) program notes, bio and a recent CV to:
