Mark Breland Foundation Issues a Call for Doctors, Medical Instituions and Other Medical Personnel to Work with Fighters on the East Coast

New York, NY, June 07, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Mark Breland is a 1984 Olympic gold medalist in the Welterweight Division , five time New York Golden Gloves champion, two time WBA Welterweight Champion accomplished actor, and philanthropist.

The Mark Breland Foundation has a stake in the lives of fighters before, during and after their careers. The toll that boxing takes on its participants has been known for many years and it is only recently that research in this area has been growing. The need for competent treatment and care for a series of post-boxing career medical issues is evident.

The Foundation is currently seeking Doctors in all disciplines to be part of a volunteer Medical Advisory Board in order to provide pro bono services to those fighters who have ended their careers and now find themselves in need of medical treatment that they do not have the means to pay for.

The Foundation also seeks all types of medical personnel from nurses, to social workers, to speech therapists, etc. to also be involved as well.

The interest that you take by giving your time and services will allow some great warriors to grow older gracefully and to cope with problems that were as a result of their chosen profession.
