)-- This year’s Pharmaceutical Contract Management Group (PCMG) meeting will be held on 13-15th June 2012, at the Sheraton Pine Cliffs Hotel, Portugal and will have the theme ‘Innovation in a changing market’.
Faiz’s presentation will briefly summarize the role of key regulatory agencies and highlight examples of how the regulatory framework in different countries has influenced innovation. In addition, he will look at some of the proposed initiatives to further improve the regulatory framework and encourage R&D in the life sciences sector.
The PCMG is the leading forum in Europe for the discussion and improvement of outsourcing issues and practices. The PCMG now has more than 120 members from a wide spectrum of organizations, across 11 countries, including traditional pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and virtual development companies.
“It is timely that this year’s PCMG meeting will focus on the theme of innovation,” commented Faiz. “There is no doubt that regulators have a role to play in supporting new drug development. Currently, there are a number of initiatives underway to boost innovation that will involve regulators, industry and other stakeholders.”
