Living the True Dream: Long Island Gold Published by Outskirts Press

Cherie’s new contemporary romance brings together a rock star and a children’s book writer in a heavenly tale that shows the importance of living a dream while also revealing everyone’s true dream.

Kings Park, NY, June 09, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Debut novelist Cherie announced today the release of Long Island Gold, published by Outskirts Press. Cherie uses a heavenly tale of romance to pass on to her readers the message that we are all brothers and sisters and need to take care of each other, follow our own dreams and, most importantly, help our children realize their dreams.

The story starts as Marisa Brie and Lee Ann Brockman open their own business, a vending table at Port Jefferson Harbor as part of a summer senior course project. The two accounting majors name their enterprise “Long Island Gold” and hope to use it as a stepping stone to their true dream, having their own business.

Marisa’s parents, however, have a different vision for her future, both with her profession and with the man they want her to marry. The girls enlist the help of two friends who own a photography studio to help them hide Marisa’s true ambitions while they work the vending table for their summer project.

One starry night Marisa meets Nick Stone, whose rock and roll band is playing on the Long Island Ferry cruise. At first Nick appears to be just a “dreamer who only dreams,” but soon he charms Marisa into revealing her true dream, and this leads her, her friends and the world to see the true purpose of life.

A multi-layered romantic tale, Long Island Gold offers a message that will help unite readers in these days of social division over economic classes, social issues, politics and religion. When it is revealed that the hero, Nick Stone, and the heroine, Marisa Brie, are in actuality the archangel Michael and the seraph Compassion, the full significance of the novel’s heavenly message is revealed.

Long Island Gold is available on-line in paperback through Amazon and Barnes and Noble and at www.outskirtspress.com/bookstore for a maximum trade discount in quantities of ten or more.
