Managing Director Position Open, Vpstart Crow Productions

Manassas, VA, June 13, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Vpstart Crow Productions Inc., a non-profit, professional theater group performing in the Gregory Family Theater at the Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manassas, Virginia, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Managing Director to oversee the administrative functions. The position is for the upcoming season and beyond with each season consisting of a fall, holiday, winter and spring production. Vpstart Crow employs a resident company of regional professional performers and artists of the highest caliber and is dedicated to breaking down the barriers between audience and actors in a lively, thought-provoking and “vpstartling” style.

The Managing Director advances the theater’s mission and manages the resources while overseeing and coordinating the group’s activities and initiatives. The Managing Director works closely with the Artistic Director and reports to the Board of Directors. Responsibilities include: (1) Act as administrative liaison to the Hylton Performing Arts Center for production contracts, schedule facilities and theatre rentals, manage subscriber and ticket services and accounts, and handle administration communications. (2) Oversee and coordinate measures with Artistic Director, Treasurer, Public Relations Director, Production Directors, Technical Director and Stage Manager. (3) Develop the subscriber ticket vouchers for all shows and mail to current subscribers. (4) Maintain up-to-date cast and crew listings, production contracts, and determine payment rates. (5) Coordinate staff for various events. (6) Create media for in-house advertising. (7) Ensure all production, corporate, and website information is current and accurate.

Minimum requirements are: (1) 5-7 years in theatre arts in community or professional theatre. (2) Managerial experience, specifically working with tenant supervisors and company production team members. (3) Production contracts, actor payroll experience. (4) Good writing, editing and proofreading experience with an eye for detail. (5) Friendliness, good attitude, works well with others, and has enough time to devote to maintain timeliness. (6) Knowledge of Word, Excel. (7) Professionalism is crucial.
